Position: Finance Manager

As a Finance Manager you will be responsible for the management of all financial processes, reporting, analysis and controls relating to the JLR Freight contract, specifically UK Inbound Freight and the Hams Hall Cross Dock operation. Manage the JLR Freight finance team and support the customer and senior Operations team across 10 sites nationally, including working closely with the UK Freight Operations Director in all aspects of Finance including commercial guidance
Key Responsibilities in this role will include;
Key customer contact for JLR including presentation and analysis of financial performance at weekly customer joint finance and operations meeting
Ownership of customer cost trackers including making sure all detail is timely and accurate in order to explain all costs incurred
Leads response to regular cost audits in line with DHL JLR master services agreement
Directly support the customer with ad hoc financial projects and ongoing issues including demonstrating sufficient controls, completing the necessary reconciliations and presenting the required detail
Manage the production of customer weekly Quicks and period Management Accounts, to include period commentary highlighting key variances to plan
Overall responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of Balance Sheet and Open Book reconciliations as per DHL reporting requirements
Responsibility for the completion, accuracy and analysis of DHL annual budgets and reforecasts including financial walk for key movements, for example year on year
Offer essential support to the commercial controller, including but not limited to providing detailed financial information on which to build annual customer budgets and assistance in delivery of BCAs including ownership of DHL investment models
Commercial support to the Operations Director on a day to day basis including identification and analysis of contractual cost down opportunities, providing proof that implemented initiatives are reflected in the costs
Weekly review of cost lines with senior operations managers across 10 sites nationally vs budget or other expectation including analysis of key factors
Develop and maintain effective business relationships with key DHL stakeholders including Accenture reporting and credit control, Insurance & Risk, procurement, operational control managers, business development, commercial directors, payroll and HR
Recruit, develop and lead the JLR Freight finance team made up of 4 including management graded Assistant Finance Manager
Financial lead for key UK Freight IT projects (e.g. SCI) including leadership at project meetings demonstrating costs incurred and working closely with project managers to understand any variances to expectation
Key skills and experience in this role will include:
Experience in similar role is desirable
Experience of Automotive sector is beneficial but not essential
Line Management experience is essential
Has demonstrated excellent analytical and numerical skills
Experience of both Oracle and CFX desirabale
Experience of Supply Chain finance desirable
Has demonstrated effectiveness in a busy pressurised environment
Experienced ability to work on own initiative while communicating effectively with key stakeholders
Experience of Microsoft Office especially Excel required
AAT/CIMA part/fully qualified
