Senior Planning and Development Manager
About the role
The Severn Trent land & property portfolio comprises approximately 54,000 acres across 7,124 sites. It has been identified that around 12,000 acres is surplus land which is no longer required for its core business operations (water supply and waste water treatment) and is targeted for disposal over the next 10-15 years. Working closely with the Head of Property Development, this role it to create and Implement the Property Development strategy and business plan across this land within the Severn Trent region. In the role you will be responsible for managing our existing partner contractual relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure we maximize value from both planning allocations and applications. The role will also execute the designed property disposal strategy to maximize our financial opportunities, while working to actively participate in the planning process by working with key stakeholders including local government and politicians; statutory bodies and landowners.
In this high profile role you will ideally be a fully qualified chartered surveyor or Town and Country Planner working at a senior level, who has a both experience and knowledge in a strategic or tactical planning role. You will have had direct experience in land promotion, both in planning systems and through land owner planning promotion agreements. Bringing a proven track record of land transactions will be advantageous, either directly or through managing third party property advisors or agents. This would include direct land sales, acquisition of adjoining land ownerships and more complex structures of planning promotion and development agreements. We would also be looking for you to have the knowledge to develop robust business information systems to support the planning and development team, which will in turn feed into management information provided to Severn Trent's executive committee who will be one of your main stakeholders.
