We are currently recruiting for a Buyer based in Warwickshire.

Job Function:

  • To select and develop suppliers and implement category management ensuring that cost savings are maximised, high quality maintained and service improved

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve individual, team and Company Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
  • Negotiate best terms with suppliers and increase supplier contributions to the business
  • Account manage key suppliers, improving supplier's performance
  • To actively source new suppliers and products stimulating sales growth
  • Supply new product information/samples for training purposes
  • Ensure new product information is passed to all relevant business channels
  • Follow new/existing products through their life cycle and suggest actions
  • Raise and place replenishment orders with approved suppliers, ensuring continuity of stock levels within minimum/maximum levels
  • Review re-order parameters whenever necessary
  • Keep stock valuation within agreed targets
  • Maintain and update supplier and product details on Microsoft Navision
  • Monitor slow moving stock and implement procedures to reduce SLOB value
  • Deal with invoicing queries
  • Liaise with internal customers promptly
  • Process special purchase orders
  • Keep the Trading Manager fully informed of any current/impending problems
  • Ensure new product information is passed to all relevant business channels
  • Follow new/existing products through their life cycle and suggest actions
  • In the absence of any Trading team member, cover their priority tasks
  • Undertake any other duties, within reason, as defined by the Trading Manager
  • Maintain 'good housekeeping' standards, ensuring tidiness, safety and good working practices are adhered to, in order to meet statutory health and safety requirements
