Our client specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of truly bespoke materials handling solutions for a diverse range of heavier-duty applications on a global basis, and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now actively seeking to recruit an experienced and highly capable Project Engineer to complement their established and successful team.
Based in the West Midlands and reporting to the Operations Director, the successful Project Engineer candidate will be tasked with ensuring that in-house and on-site orders and projects are managed and organised in a cost effective and safe manner and that customer satisfaction is achieved at all times.
As Project Engineer, you will oversee the management and control of orders received from customers ranging from supply only to turnkey contracts consisting of design, manufacture, installation and commissioning, and will implement contract management policies and procedures to ensure the Gross Margin Profit of contracts is achieved and bettered if possible.
Responsible for cost control throughout contracts in live time, you will take control of a range of in-house manufacturing projects as well as the technical aspects of contracts or enquiries as required, ensuring sufficient detail is available for manufacture / quotation and liaising closely with the sales department in order to ensure that the estimate of works can be realised in the most cost effective way without compromising on quality or safety.
With excellent communication skills at all levels, you will liaise extensively with customers in order to ensure their expectations are not only met but exceeded, and will act on verbal or written instructions received from the Operations department in relation to order processing and discussions in respect to labour allocation re work load and forward orders, and will assist with sales activities as relationships develop on the back of successful contracts.
Other duties will include overseeing all aspects of plant and equipment including the maintenance and procurement of equipment as required, and materials management - ensuring minimisation of wastage and availability in line with contractual arrangements. Committed to the highest levels of continuous improvement, quality and health and safety, you will be an experienced and motivational engineer able to assess and encourage members of the team on an ongoing basis.
