Job Title: Manufacturing / Production Process Engineer
Salary: £25000 - £35000 pa
Location: Birmingham


A long established engineering company producing HVAC systems for vehicles is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team.


The Manufacturing / Production Process Engineer will work with the Production, Design, and Quality Teams to ensure products are manufactured to the highest possible standards. The Engineer will prescribe new and review current processes to ensure that they contain the maximum value adding content. The Engineer will liaise with all internal and external customers to ensure prompt resolution of Engineering Manufacturing and Production issues.
The role requires a forward thinking manufacturing / mechanical engineer with an analytical mind. The person will be required to develop innovative manufacturing processes, combined with a common sense approach to ensure the most efficient cost effective way of bringing new product to the market, as well as looking at opportunities to bring cost savings to the business.

Standard working hours are 8:00-17:00 Monday to Thursday, 8:00-15:00 Friday.


-Solve manufacturing problems in a practical way.
-Works with executive management to coordinate technical resources for the company.
-Review current manufacturing methods and processes to reduce engineering modifications, reduce costs and improve the quality of service offered within the department.
-Produce detailed work instructions that prescribe the assembly process for newly introduced products.
-Training of production operatives in the assembly of product.
-Verify assembly times are achievable by conducting time/ motion studies to ensure routings are correct.
-Attend and participates in Manufacturing, Engineering, New Product Introduction, Planning and various meetings and committees as necessary.
-Develops new processes and methods to improve product efficiency and productivity.
-Ensure Processes are capable to allow minimal variance during product assembly.
-Provide cost savings to the business, to a minimum of your salary that are easily recordable.
-Ensures ISO 9000 compliance with procedures, work standards and forms.
-Maintains good communication inside and outside of the Company.
-Seeks to enhance Production work processes to increase personnel productivity.

-Good theoretical knowledge of Lean manufacturing with experience of practical implementation.

-Practical engineering experience.
-Must be organized and able to set priorities and schedules.
-Project Management skills are essential.
-Ability to meet project deadlines.
-Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, sales, suppliers, customers and other company personnel.
-Must be able to make sound judgment and execute quick decision making.
-Computer literate, minimum competent in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
