We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager specialising in the rail sector to join a reputable design and engineering practice on a permanent basis in Warwickshire. Our client provides innovative design and engineering solutions to a variety of projects in the aviation, healthcare, education and rail sectors. From working on award-winning projects, they have gained a catalogue of notable clients and increasing workload, therefore they are looking for a skilled Project Manager for a major rail project.

The selected candidate will have a variety of roles and responsibilities including:

- Acting as the key contact with clients
- Ensuring the highest possible railway HSE standards are achieved
- Advising the project team on project planning activities and initiatives, and present recommendations and status updates to key customers and stakeholders
- Preparing financial spreadsheets, summarising information, and communicating results to key stakeholders
- Leading, reviewing and challenging project budgets and forecasts to ensure a consistent and deliverable approach is adopted
- Developing and managing key customer relationships
- Ensuring appropriate allocation of other Sub Consultant resources
- Reviewing and approving project management plans, and where appropriate, health and safety plans

Key skills, experience and attributes:

- Degree qualified in relevant subject, or extensive project focussed knowledge
- Working knowledge of ProjectWise and Primevara P6
- Specific experience in at least one of the rail sectors
- Successful high value and complex project management experience
- Sound experience in the application of safety legislation and corporate safety procedures, including CDM
- Good understanding of commercial issues affecting project performance
- Knowledge of the Rail Consultancy industry
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Excellent negotiation and diplomacy skills
- Desirable for candidates to be a member of the Association for Project Management and/or have the Prince2 qualification
