Mitchells & Butlers have an exciting new opportunity for a Culinary Tutor to join the Culinary Education team on a permanent basis!Primarily based in Didsbury, Manchester, with a secondary base at the Kitchen Skills Academy in Watford, and reporting to the Culinary Learning & Development Manager, the Culinary Tutor will provide industry leading culinary education and frontline training that elevates Mitchells & Butlers as an employer of choice, whilst developing operational skills that drive sales and increase customer food satisfaction.

The responsibilities of the Culinary Tutor are varied and extremely rewarding, and include:

  • Delivering culinary skill training and the implementation of learning journeys
  • Delivering food training at professional cookery level 2 and 3 standards
  • Delivering accredited culinary learning programmes
  • Consistently seek to improve the quality and standardisation of culinary education delivery to drive learner satisfaction and Ofsted rating
  • Improving Mitchells & Butlers presence as an employer of choice for chefs by showcasing talent at food shows, trade events and through tactical award entries
  • Working in collaboration with the Culinary Learning & Development Managers and Sales and Marketing Manager to amplify activity through a range of social and traditional PR
  • Through qualification and learning activity, evoke high levels of learner satisfaction and loyalty
  • Be an ambassador for the Culinary Education team at all times

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Experience in creating and implementing culinary learning interventions
  • Experience of delivering qualifications for an approved centre
  • Experience in working within an Ofsted 'good’ graded centre or above
  • Experience of driving learner satisfaction and retention
  • Experience in driving team activity and compliance in a large matrix organisation
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication Skills
  • Highly organised
  • The ability to be able to adapt approach based on the audience
  • GCSE’s in English and Maths grade A*-C
  • Professional Cookery Level 2 & 3 (706/1&2)
  • Group Training Techniques (or equivalent)
  • TAQA
