Overview:

The primary objective of the Education Manager is to lead the development, management and delivery of educational products and services. Other tasks include building and managing strong relationships with external educational establishment and awarding bodies

Main Roles & Responsibilities:

    Leading the development of educational products and services, ensuring strategies are competitive with both other animal collections and educational providers. Responsible for the overall management of the Education team on a daily basis, including recruitment, training and development. Ensuring excellent communication in the team at all times, supporting staff where required and encouraging new ideas that will positively enhance educational products and services.Responsible for the creation and management of staffing schedules against departmental workload and set budgets. Including all employee annual leave requests and approval of hours for accurate payroll payments. Developing and maintaining a strong relationship with external educational establishment and awarding bodies, ensuring the education team have a well structured and supportive escalation and communication process in place at all times.Pro-actively keep up to date with developments in the national curriculum, educational products and services and educational industry best practice.Supporting the creation and development of curriculum and none curriculum based indoor and outdoor learning experiences.Monitor, review and implement changes to departmental method statements and risk assessments, ensuring a suitable and safe environment for all service users of the Safari Academy.Work collaboratively with the Creative & Marketing department to promote current and upcoming educational products and services.Work collaboratively with the Senior Wildlife Management regarding the acquisition and proposals of new specimens to support the delivery of educational products and services. Work collaboratively with SeaQuarium Weston-Super-Mare and SeaQuarium Rhyl to ensure all sites are providing high quality educational guest experiences.
Education / Qualifications:

    Minimum degree level qualificationTeaching, presenter or educator experience is essential, alongside a formal teaching qualificationSupervisor or Managerial experience is essential
