Your Housing Group is part of the Sapphire Consortium appointed to deliver 390 high quality retirement apartments as part of a PFI contract in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent city council. This is a fabulous opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting the elderly to join our highly supportive team at our stunning Retirement Living scheme at Willow Barns, Blurton.

Our Scheme Managers are responsible for the delivery of a high quality Retirement Living Scheme service and a first class customer service to our residents, ensuring that all activity supports the achievement of the group’s vision and is reflective of older people’s aspirations.

You will be responsible for co-ordinating activities and events for residents and ensuring a positive climate for resident involvement. You will be working closely with onsite partners and agencies to ensure the delivery of a first class service, compliance with health and safety legislation and adherence to good practice.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that the retirement living scheme meets key performance indicators, service level agreements and contract agreements.

The Scheme Manager will also be part of a local on-call rota and be required to attend site out of hours in the event of a full emergency evacuation.

If you have the following experience we would be really keen to hear from you

  • Managing older peoples housing services/schemes
  • Managing staff
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy/housing management principles
  • Knowledge of PFI
  • Ability to work alone and organise workload accordingly
  • Ability to relate to a diverse range of people in building positive relationships
  • Effective communication skills to be able to work with members of the public, particularly older people in an empathetic manner and to be able to communicate information in a clear and understandable manner

This role is eligible for a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (i.e. it involves certain activities in relation to children and/or adults) and is defined as regulated activity under Part 1 of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006.Therefore a DBS ENHANCED check for a regulated activity is an essential requirement.
