Quality Inspector (FTC)
About the Role
As a Quality Inspector you will be responsible for the taking of water supply samples and carrying out on-site analyses for chemical and microbiological parameters taken at water treatment works, distribution service reservoirs and customer taps. Another aspect of this role involves the visiting of Severn Trent sites, customers' properties and public places, all the while ensuring you are complying with all relevant safe systems of work and represent the company in a professional manner. Within this role you will provide a statutory monitoring and analytical service which meets industry standards and holds up to regulatory audit. Each Quality Inspector has a responsibility at all times to comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Sampling Manual together with any associated documentation, as well as providing technical advice and communication on existing regulations to support operational activities.
With experience in workload planning and resource management, ensuring deadlines are completed to the required regulatory standards, the successful candidate will also have experience in performance management, including appraisals, training and audit alike. You will also be able to plan, act and perform requests from regulatory demands, operational incidents or events and due diligence. It is also expected that the successful candidate will be able to provide technical advice and communication in order to support operational activities, which may include giving advice which enables staff to achieve competence in these areas and other relevant measures. Furthermore, key to this role is an understanding of water quality regulations as well as associated guidance to ensure required compliance, identifications of best practice, and efficient operation of the overall sampling process.
