Engineering Apprentice – Birmingham B10

Our Client are a manufacturing company, and proud of it. All of their products are designed by themselves and built in their own factory. Specialising in container handling equipment such as container castors, bogies and jacks. This means that they control everything in house, assuring well designed and reliable products.

For British users the company can offer a repair and re-conditioning service, as well as being able to re-certify items to the appropriate Health and Safety Executive specifications. This is one reason the company have become the number one choice for many clients looking for container handling equipment.

Duties will include:

  • Welding
  • Fabrication
  • Drilling
  • Operating Lathes

You will become multi skilled in all departments in order to satisfy customer requirements.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to play a large part within the company becoming multi skilled in numerous disciplines. The company are growing and are looking for the right candidate to grow with them.

In order to be successful you must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Able to use own initiative

You will be required to attend the academy for training in your BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Engineering. 6 weeks (2 days a week).This will also include a 2 day industry work placement.

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations is delivered at LEMA Engineering & Manufacturing Academy. You will be in training for one day a week and four days a week at your trainee Engineering Apprenticeship placement for the first 23 weeks of your 12 month Apprenticeship.


For the trainee Engineering Apprentice:
You will require 5 GCSE's Grade A-C including Maths and English.
You will have to be aged 16 – 18 years old.
You have an interest in engineering.
