Recovery Practitioners – Staffordshire East and surrounding area. 35 hrs per week, ADS salary scale 4.1 £20,087 (£20,087 - £22,726)

To work as a Recovery Practitioner across ADS Staffordshire East, as part of One Recovery Staffordshire, to provide effective high quality assessments (including risk focused assessments) and evidence based intake services to people affected by substance misuse and/or secondary substance misuse. The post-holder will work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team to deliver recovery focussed, community based substance misuse treatment at the earliest opportunity (including pre-sentence and pre-release from custody). The post-holder will work alongside partner agencies in Staffordshire to provide interventions to support and motivate service users which meet their needs through their individual recovery journey. You will share ADS’ vision, that each service user has the potential for recovery from substance misuse. You will work within a framework that promotes a change and outcome focussed approach.

The role would include:
  • To work as an integral member of the service in the identification, engagement and management of service users dependent on drugs and/or alcohol.
  • To utilise a range of evidence based interventions, delivered through individual and group work in a range of settings, empowering service users to achieve and sustain positive outcomes.
  • To provide and/or facilitate access to services which are responsive to the needs of the families and friends of alcohol misusers.
  • To provide feedback on progress to the Recovery Co-ordinator at regular care plan reviews.
  • To respond to changes in risk and need by giving feedback to the Recovery Co-ordinator outside of the normal review process.
  • To work closely with Peer Mentors, Volunteers and Recovery Coaches to ensure service users get the best possible outcomes from working with the wide variety of support available.
  • To promote the involvement of service users and families in the design, development and delivery of services.
  • To provide advice, support and consultancy to partner agencies working with people affected by alcohol/drug misuse, facilitating joint working with service users where appropriate.
  • To maintain accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date service user records, ensuring all necessary information is entered onto the case management systems.
  • To comply with safeguarding children and vulnerable adults protocols and legislative requirements, contributing to case conferences, reviews and investigations as required.

The ideal candidate would have a relevant professional qualification i.e Diploma in social work or addiction studies OR demonstrable experience and competence of working in the substance misuse field. In addition to this, we will consider candidates with relevant knowledge, skills and experience of the criminal justice system and assessing individuals’ needs and liaising with third parties.
