Are you an over 5 years’ qualified solicitor? Are you committed to and energised by making a positive and valued contribution to the charity sector?
If that’s all you, joining Macmillan must be a smart move. We’re a highly regarded charity, with ambitious plans and an agenda for change. In this in-house opportunity - broad-based and extremely varied - you’ll make a real difference to the lives of people affected by cancer.
How? By advising and supporting great teams to facilitate and negotiate continued growth and improvement in the provision of cancer services. And in doing so, our support for your continued professional development will be guaranteed. You will be advising our services and business support teams on their relationships with the NHS, suppliers, and other partners to provide assistance to people affected by cancer and to support the organisation. You will also support our Finance, Legal & Audit directorate, coordinating and delegating work as required. Additionally, you may also advise our IT department and other teams across the Charity as required.
Strong commercial contract experience is essential. Background in the charity sector is desirable though not essential. Experience of working with NHS, other statutory or voluntary sectors contracts is preferred but not essential. Experience of IT contract management is also desirable but not essential. You will have excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage your work load effectively.
Examples of the type of work include providing legal input to working groups, developing, and disseminating standard precedent documents and drafting notes, supporting and training teams on matters such as contract management, contract law and data protection as well as providing support to the Director of Legal. The work is always varied and challenging.
