The purpose of this role is to manage the overall Restraints Systems team and lead the delivery of Restraints Systems across programmes.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

- Manage Restraints Systems Team. Ensuring Restraints Systems delivery across programmes. * Support direction and management of staff in line with department objectives set by the Senior Manager. * Lead performance and development of Restraints Systems team members * Support technical engineering issues resolution in line with programme targets and constraints * Development and management of component and system level performance and quality targets/Requirements. * Responsibility for cross programme financial management of Restraints Systems * Liaise with and manage external Suppliers and partners * Liaise with and support interfacing internal areas within the business * Report status of Restraints systems at appropriate business gateways * Ensure delivery of Restraints systems to programme targets, timing and costs.

Qualifications & Experience

- Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) minimum 2.1 * Excellent knowledge of Automotive Restraint Systems * Extensive experience in Restraints systems development * Proven track record of achievement within Restraints Systems development and delivery * Experience of staff line management * Programme management experience (planning, financial and status reporting responsibility) * Intuitive knowledge of fundamental Mechanical engineering theory * Excellent IT skills and working knowledge of MS word/Excel etc * Excellent problem solving abilities * Full UK Drivers Licence and flexibility to travel in UK and overseas * Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at all levels of organisation * Self-starting and self-motivated with excellent organisational skills * Able to learn quickly and integrate into a successful and dynamic team * Ability to work under pressure * Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to influence
