We are seeking an experienced Production manager / Machine shop manager / Engineering work shop manager to work for a well established manufacturer of machined aerospace parts and components. This role will be working within a production environment located in Bristol and offers a good benefits package.

The Production manager / Machine shop manager / Engineering work shop manager will be managing the CNC machining and engineering production staff on the shop floor, ensuring the smooth progression of machined and manufactured parts components and products for the aerospace industry.
The Production manager / Machine shop manager / Engineering work shop manager will co-ordinate and manage a team of engineers, so strong supervisory, managerial and people management skills are essential. This role will report directly to the MD of the company.
In addition you will be responsible for production planning and scheduling and any experience in purchasing tooling and equipment would be also be beneficial. It is essential to be computer literate and able to use word and excel, a full understanding of relevant health and Safety guidelines.

The Production manager / Machine shop manager / Engineering work shop manager will be the first point of contact for advice on the best practice and methods of manufacturing and will be responsible for the quality of work carried out, to ensure traceability of materials and components going through the machine shop. You will liaise closely with the quality department to ensure the relevant quality standards are maintained.

The role will also involve organising the maintenance of the machine tools, fixings and fixtures, keeping up to date with materials and consumable requirements and involve direct customer contact from time to time.

The ideal candidate will come from a manufacturing and engineering background with management experience either through a time served machining / precision engineering background and related qualifications with progression into management or HNC or degree level in a mechanical or technically related subject. In addition you must also have supervisory / managerial experience and recognised engineering and or managerial qualifications are essential, as well as knowledge of modern production and CNC machining practices preferably in aerospace or precision engineering environments.

The company are a friendly, stable and established organisation offering a good salary of £45 - 55k depending on expertise and suitability for the role, bonus of up to 5k, good benefits package including 33 days holiday, pension and prospects for further development within the organisation to the successful candidate.
