Linux MYSQL AWS Systems Administrator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate System Administrator looking to secure a position within a large design and development office near Rugby. The company design and build responsive websites that are engaging, interactive and facilitate the latest technologies in order to provide the best user experience.

The candidate will live and breathe Linux and is eager to take on a network of 60+ Linux servers, hosted within AWS, and an internal network using Windows (7 through to 10), Linux (mainly Ubuntu), and OSX machines.

You will be joining a team of talented System Administrators, supporting the existing Linux-based private cloud and aiding in the construction and maintenance of our web-serving AWS infrastructure. You will be proud to deliver outstanding work for the company`s amazing clients.

Some of the Responsibilities include:
- Writing your own server-less functions
- Banning entire countries using GeoIP in nginx
- Playing a key part in the constant roll out of new servers and up to date packages
- Keeping a close eye on the management and security of our software
- Ensuring staff have the tools and packages they need to work with
- Helping to make sure that the company`s networks stay stable and secure

Essential Skills
- Strong understanding of DNS
- AWS (e.g. EC2, RDS, ELB)
- Strong Linux knowledge
- Fluent in Bash
- LAMP and LEMP stack
- Ability to find, read and learn from documentation (and write your own)
- Great communication and time planning skills
- Ability to syphon out required information from mountains of data

Desired Skills:
- Configuration management software (Salt/Puppet/etc.)
- Highly available system design
- BIND configuration and networking (Cisco)
- Samba / Active Directory
- Some knowledge of LDAP
- Windows Server management
- Web stack software (e.g. Varnish, ElasticSearch, MySQL, Nginx, Apache/httpd)
- Virtualisation technologies (e.g. Proxmox, VMWare, KVM, etc.)
- PHP / Python
- SELinux
- Docker / Vagrant
- Basic Windows troubleshooting
