Modern Foreign Languages Graduate Teaching Assistant

Have you recently graduated from a Russell Group university with a 2.1 degree or higher in a modern foreign language?

Perhaps you have a passion and strong fluency to speak both Spanish and French?

Are you looking to one day become a Modern Foreign Language teacher, but initially would like to gain a year's paid experience in a support role?

The Role:

Working within the modern foreign languages department you will assist the department in providing excellent learning opportunities and supporting learners who may need additional intervention support in order to achieve their potential. You will work across different year groups, however predominantly you will be supporting GCSE learners and Year 10 students. Your task will be to raise levels of progress and attainment across targeted individual pupils. You will be predominantly helping GCSE students prepare for their exams, but also assisting the younger learners in Year 7-9 who may struggle to grasp the concepts of a new language.

As a Modern Foreign Languages graduate teaching assistant you will have an exciting opportunity and insight in to education. You will gain vital experience and knowledge ready for when you embark upon teacher training in 2018. Each day will be different and present new and exciting challenges to deal with. From time to time you will be supporting on a one-to-one with pupils who need dedicated mentoring, whilst at other times you will be expected to deliver your own small group intervention sessions supporting up to 5 students at a time to grasp new language concepts within Spanish or French.
