Mechanical Field Service Engineer

£35,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Company Vehicle

Dudley (based) with UK Travel

Permanent position

A successful global manufacturing and servicing Company with a base in near Dudley in the West Midlands currently has a position available for an experienced Field Service Engineer. The role will be based in the Midlands, however UK-wide travel will be required on a regular basis (50% + of your working time) to provide installation, customer service & technical support for mechanical equipment installs on-site.

Main Job Responsibilities:

- Perform varied technical and service roles to support, develop and promote mechanically-engineered equipment applications
- Provide technical assistance and training to customers, remotely by phone, through written correspondence, webcasts, and in person at customer facilities
- Support and consult on equipment installations in-house and at customer facilities
- Ability to provide on-site installation support including operating in outdoor conditions for extended periods of time
- Complete system testing and commissioning through to customer acceptance
- Carrying out physically demanding tasks including lifting equipment (up to a max. 25kg)
- Field troubleshooting and correction of any problem installations or applications
- Provide consistent and effective customer service

Candidate Requirements:

- A thorough Mechanical background with experience in installation and servicing of industrial equipment
- Previous experience operating in a field service role within an industrial applications sector
- Able to safely work for extended periods of time (up to 12 hour working days) in non-climate-controlled environments
- Possess a full UK or EU driving licence (clean licence or minimal points accepted)
- Able to drive a company vehicle to and from job sites
- Able to work independently in an industrial plant environment
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be able to deliver excellent customer service
- Computer proficiency with demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
