SALARY: up to £75,000. OTE £90,000

Location: UK. Homebased with circa 50% of your time will require travel to the global account`s sites (of which circa 80% with the UK, 20% to the US).

Role Overview - Strategic Key Account Manager - Specialty Chemicals

As Strategic Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for leading, planning and executing the joint value creation relationship between the business and one of our most important strategic global accounts.

Desired Skills & Experience: Strategic Key Account Manager - Specialty Chemicals

We are interested in receiving applications from experienced strategic account specialists who meet the following brief:

- Degree qualified (or higher) in Chemistry, Chemistry related, pharmacology, life science or a closely related discipline. This is a pre-requisite as we need an individual who is strong technically and will gain credibility quickly
- Ideally you will have an in-depth working knowledge of the Life science, pharmaceutical and/or dermatologicalmarkets. We would however, also consider individuals who work within other chemistry related, manufacturing organisations who have a proven track record of strategically managing and developing a global account/s
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to think and act both tactically and strategically
- Have strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills
- Be able to demonstrate abilities and successes in implementing new product, solution, technology and value selling programmes
- Be able to work in a matrix organisation and develop relationships with internal partners including customer service, supply chain, platform, marketing and research and development

As a point of reference, it is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles in the past or currently, and with the following products and/or in the following markets sectors:

- Key Account Manager. National Account Manager. Business Development Manager. Sales Manager. Business Manager. Channel Development Manager. Product Marketing Manager. Marketing Manager.
- Pharmaceuticals. Consumer Healthcare Products. Personal Care. Dermal/Skin Care. Cosmetics. Oral care. Speciality Ingredients.

Role: As Strategic Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for:

- Delivering and maintaining our position as a strategic supplier this global account.
- Engaging in a variety of activities that include strategic account planning, organisational alignment, joint value creation, reputation and relationship management, and operational & outcome management.
- Fostering a solutions-based, value selling culture with global contacts and Regional Account Managers and customers.
- Achieving targets for strategic account sales revenue, volume, material margin and gross profit.
- Managing the development and effectiveness of joint value creation through understanding of unmet needs and aligning with our organisational capabilities and priorities.
- Develop, execute and communicate the strategic account strategy which delivers long term year on year growth.
- Leading all global contract negotiations and oversee all regional supply agreements.
- Delivering and co leading innovation projects for next generation product design.
