Currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineer working for an Automotive OEM.

Position Description:
The Tooling and Pressed Parts Engineering Group is responsible for sheet metal tooling programs, facilities and technologies for all vehicles. This includes managing the design, manufacture and successful launch of tooling into nominated press facilities. This Engineering role is responsible for specification and procurement of tools, operating from the start of die design through to final commissioning and sign-off in nominated press facility.
Skills Required:
• A thorough understanding of press tool design, methods and technologies.
• Knowledge and familiarity with key processes, facilities and technologies used throughout the pressed parts process chain.
• Able to deal with complex technical situations and identify clear navigational paths through them
• An ability to work with Tooling suppliers from Eu and Asia. Ensuring tooling complies with standards and meets or exceeds target press facility performance.
• Assuming responsibility for all aspects of panel dimensional and cosmetic quality as well as fit for purpose build in BIW assembly facilities.
• Managing the interfaces with Product design, Toolmakers, BIW assembly, Quality during early build and launch phases.
• Developing and reporting on KPI's Ensuring learning from one program to another is captured and contained within engineering standards and operating procedures.
• Must be willing to travel over seas

Proven experience in the following:
• Working with Tooling Project Planners and Purchasing Group to establish a viable timeline and plan for an assigned portfolio of press tools.
• Managing progress, and delivery of tooling into press facilities whilst ensuring compliance with targets for performance, quality standards, program timing and cost.
• Operating as subject matter expert and owner' of an assigned portfolio of tooling, providing regular, structured updates on performance, quality, timing and cost.
• Drive for best possible tooling outcomes by ensuring that the design phase maximises panel quality and overall hits per hour' performance.
• Establishing a professional, engineering interface with product design and tooling vendors to ensure robust management of engineering change with minimal impact to the project outcomes
• A good level of business acumen.
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
