Role objective
The purpose of the Central Planning team within Network Control is to build an effective and efficient business planning and resource management capability in order to deliver a service which meets our customers' requirements within budget. The tactical resource planning team within this area is key in ensuring Operational resource is utilised effectively across the whole of the Severn Trent area. The objective of the Real Time Analyst within the role is to produce a 28 day demand and capacity plan and track performance against the plan in order to improve the accuracy of future forecasts. The role will also be expected to make informed decisions on resource moves in order to meet demand ensuring we optimise resource across Wholesale to achieve against all metrics and KPIs. The role is crucial in supporting our Operational colleagues to deliver exceptional Customer Service within a managed cost framework.

Key accountabilities
* Produce a rolling 28 day demand and capacity plan for Wholesale operational counties and Planning and Scheduling teams * Track and identify variances against the plan (i.e. Demand, Shrinkage (absence, training, comm. cells etc.), and providing line manager with insight and analysis to be fed back to both colleagues and stakeholders. * Proactively analyse data sets to inform decision making on an interval/daily basis (i.e. resource moves between county boundaries) * Conduct post day performance / trend analysis to continuously improve the accuracy of the 28 day plan and Business Planning and Resource Management methodology and planning assumptions. * Produce demand and capacity reports * Predict when overtime or recruitment will be required to ensure timely action can be taken Be accountable for identification of process improvement

Experience
* Experience in the use of SAP and CLICK systems and processes * Strong MS office skills, particularly Excel. * Ability to manipulate and interrogate large data sets * Experience of Traffic Management processes and legal requirements Desirable * Evidenced experience (2 or more years) working as an effective and respected member of a Resource Planning Team with strong focus on customer service (or equivalent team). * Production of performance reports * Experience of lean management techniques

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics * Excellent IT and Data Skills Driving license would be advantageous
