At Wallis Lynch we are looking to appoint an established Senior Buyer looking to take the next step within their Procurement career with specific knowledge of bespoke manufacturing environment in the EMEA region.
Your role as Category Manager will include stakeholder communication, spend analytics, project charter development, sourcing strategy development & execution (focused negotiation, demand management, etc.) contracting, and operationalisation of the contract with the stakeholder. You will be responsible for developing a category plan and portfolio based on criticality and complexity. You will build strong stakeholder relationships to prioritise and deliver on portfolio projects. You will manage supplier relationships to ensure delivery of service, quality, cost, and supply commitments.
You will have control of the implementation of sourcing projects and operationalisation of contracts to realize savings and work with cross-functional teams to manage compliance, pricing, and realised savings for assigned categories. You will be trusted with the compilation, governance and maintenance of documented processes and procedures. You will ensure the appropriate credit facilities are in place with preferred suppliers. Forecast and manage associated direct costs to deliver sustained cost efficiencies and you will implement relevant KPI's to monitor and manage adherence to company policy.
As the ideal candidate you be adaptable to change and enjoy implementing new initiatives would be advantageous. You will have SME sector experience and a style that evidences flexibility and adaptability. Degree or A level education. You will have experience in Procurement. You should be proficient in IT, especially Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. You will have excellent organizational skills. You will be commercially aware with strong communication and analytical skills. You will have experience juggling multiple priorities at one time. You will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and cross functionally
You will provide excellent customer service to clients, vendors, and fellow employees. You will respond promptly, professionally, effectively, and efficiently to internal and external customer needs and be able to manage difficult or emotional situations. Recognizes sense of urgency in responding to needs. Follows up to ensure requests, needs, and commitments are met are met consistently. It is desirable but not crucial that you are CIPS qualified/part qualified.
