Optima Plus Recruitment are representing a services business in Stoke-on-Trent with the recruitment of a Management Accountant. Working as part of a well established finance team you will be reporting directly to the Financial Controller with exposure to Finance Director and Senior Management Team.
This opportunity will suit an individual wishing to make an impact on a growing business. With a strong background in the production of management accounts, analysing key financial information, stocktakes, product costing tools as well as exposure to working within a services sector.
The key aspect of this role will be to provide accurate and timely reporting and analytical support to the European management, operations and commercial finance teams based at the Stoke-on-Trent centre.
- Ensuring the ongoing monitor, review and timely updating of all product costings.
- Preparation of a full monthly management accounts including balance sheet reconciliations and management of accruals and prepayments.
-Analyse variances to budget & forecast and communicate key risk areas.
-Daily and weekly review and reporting of sales and margin.
-Reporting on manufacturing performance - implement and develop product costing tools.
-Assist with the annual budget process.
-Assist with the annual audit and liaise with external auditors as require.
-Improve finance process and reporting improvements.
This role is based on a 6-month fixed-term contract with potential of the role going permanent. The ideal candidate should be hardworking, efficient with excellent attention to detail. Good problem solving skills and the ability to work in a time pressured environment. As the company is constantly evolving, the successful candidate should be willing to adapt and grow within the role. This role will suit a candidate who is CIMA/ACCA qualified.
In addition it is essential that the successful candidate has advanced excel skills. It would be advantageous if you have a working knowledge of product costing techniques and bill of material management.
