A fantastic opportunity for an Administrator to join an exciting recruiting service for the British Army.

About the role

Assessment Centres for Regular and Reserve officer and soldier candidates must be passed before applicants are offered a Phase 1 Training place. As an Administrator, you will provide local support to the Centre and liaise with the relevant teams within the National Recruiting Centre (NRC), at Upavon.

Working as part of an assessment team, you will be responsible for providing a warm, positive, and knowledgeable service to candidates and staff, as well as providing a proactive and reactive local service to the Centre Manager. Please note, you will be expected to work at least one weekend per month in support of the AC selection.

Since March 2012, Capita has been working with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in a partnering arrangement with the armed forces to deliver recruitment services for the Army. The project represents a major investment in the transformation for military recruiting.

The contract covers the entire recruiting and selection process for both the Regular Army and the TA, and is helping transform the way the Army recruits its officers and soldiers.

What you will do:

  • Prepare and collate all candidate records at least 7 days ahead of each assessment event

  • Ensure all assessment centre rooms are set up with the correct material to allow assessors and interviewers to conduct their part of the assessment process

  • Ensure all the information and results from the assessors and interviewers are uploaded in a timely manner onto the internal systems

  • Collect, copy and scan all ID documentation from candidates on arrival. Correct documents must be returned to the candidate on departure and allocate numbered vests to applicants on arrival

  • Act as an escort for picking up candidates from train stations as required

  • General administration duties, including photocopying, typing, shredding, filing, maintaining stationery supplies, preparation and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail.

Your experience will include:

  • The ability to communicate clearly in writing and on the telephone
  • Excellent administration skills with the ability to prioritise your workload and has a good eye for detail
  • Excellent keyboard skills, good IT competency including Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with Army Careers would be beneficial but not essential
