Assistant Management Accountant

Location: Coventry

Duration: 12 Months Maternity Cover

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000

greenwellgleeson is recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant on a 12 month contract for a £100m+ turnover business based in Coventry.

Role Purpose

  • To assist with the production of the monthly Management Accounts to ensure accuracy of data and deadlines are met

  • Maintain/issue KPI & P&L reports in a timely manner, to help improve operational efficiency

  • To ensure that statutory returns are compiled and submitted on time

  • Manage all aspects of the monthly payroll, to ensure accurate and on time payments

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the production of the monthly Management Accounts, to ensure they are completed within deadlines. To include: Accruals/prepayments, periodic journals, investigation of stocktake variances, P&L anomalies, nominal ledger recodes and control account reconciliations

  • Update and issue P&L and operational reports

  • To assist and provide cover for other Finance roles including Purchase Ledger and Weekly Payroll, when needed

  • Process Monthly Payroll. Including entering new starters, leavers, FPS/EPS submissions to HMRC and pension payments

  • Produce Intrastat, National Statistics and VAT Return figures for on time submission

  • Assist with the audit preparation and annual audit

  • Maintain the companies fixed asset register and depreciation

  • Be the point of contact for company car changes and help coordinate any repairs, to keep costs to a minimum

  • Oversee fuel card suppliers and maintain active fuel cards

  • Compile Ad hoc reports as requested

  • Any other tasks requested by the Financial Controller

Personal Profile:

  • AAT Qualified or equivalent

  • Experience in running payroll and financial month end routines

  • Good communication and diplomacy skills

  • Excellent IT skills

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

  • Well organised and methodical

  • Able to prioritise own work load to meet deadlines
