Great Britain’s gambling industry is in a constant state of change, fuelled by shifting consumer behaviour and the rapid growth of technology. It’s high profile politically too, and the legislation controlling gambling is constantly under scrutiny. Within this uniquely challenging and evolving environment, The Gambling Commission’s role is to ensure that gambling is crime free, fair and open - and that children and vulnerable people are protected.

Now they need you to play a key role in their future, driving the change needed to ensure that the Gambling Commission can meet the growing complexity of the market and the developing regulatory remit within the National Lottery.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an administration professional to play an integral support role in the regulation of the National Lottery’s operator, Camelot UK Lotteries Limited.

In this highly varied role, you will need to be adept at handling multiple differing tasks at once and eager to dive into project work, lead others and get involved in all manner of associated activities.

Joining a specialist team, as a National Lottery Assistant Game Changer, you will support the delivery of the end-to-end game application process. You’ll also have the opportunity to manage simple proposals.

In this diverse and unique role, you will identify and assess regulatory risks and issues within licensing proposals and make recommendations to senior colleagues. This may involve assessing whether a change is fair to players, if it raises consumer protection issues or if it will benefit good causes.

Additionally, your duties will involve:

- Performing targeted analysis and research for complex projects
- Building strong relationships with operator contacts
- Collating information from specialists within and outside the Commission to inform your proposal recommendations
- Presenting your recommendations, both internally and externally to the National Lottery operator
- Performing a range of administrative tasks
- Maintaining your knowledge of current market, regulatory, policy and industry developments

To be considered, you will need:

- Experience undertaking administrative duties
- Presentation experience
- Knowledge of how to undertake research and analysis on complex proposals
- Effective communication skills with internal and external staff

As the National Lottery Assistant Game Changer, you’ll also need strong written skills, the ability to explain points in a clear concise manner and recommend suitable actions. Flexibility and adaptability will be key, as will the ability to manage a wide variety of tasks.
