A Quality Engineer is required for an injection mould organisation, supplying into the Automotive manufacturing industry. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for driving internal quality improvements, particularly across the mould cells and shop floor/production

As a Quality Engineer, your principle duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Driving internal quality process

  • Quality improvement across the shop floor, particularly mould cells

  • To be a capable user of core quality tools and techniques and their application, typically SPC, Ishikawa, Histograms, Pareto Charts, Scatter Diagrams, Stratification etc.

  • Support the internal manufacturing teams with regard to the timely resolution of customer and internal quality concerns

  • Support the NPI teams during the development of Controls Plans, PFMEA, Gauge Planning etc. and highlight potential failure mode

  • Support the Internal Audit Team by performing various Internal Audits

  • Understanding and utilisation of Automotive Core tools such as APQP, PPAP, PFMEA processes

  • Provide appropriate training for Product Conformance Technicians/Quality Technicians

To be successful in the role of Quality Engineer, you will need to possess the following skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Injection Mould experience

  • An appropriate qualification in Quality Engineering e.g. Quality Assurance IQA/CQI or HNC

  • Experience working within manufacturing (Automotive desirable)

  • Proven background in successful application of QA Core tools and techniques

  • Dynamic, with a strong shop floor presence to drive internal quality

  • Excellent problem solving and fault diagnosis skills

  • A proven background of leadership abilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to plan and manage resources to achieve objectives and priorities despite conflicting agendas and multiple deliverables

  • Results driven, enthusiastic and resilient to see a job well done

  • Confident presentation skills

This role is based in South Birmingham and is accessible from Redditch, Bromsgrove, Kings Norton, Stirchley, Bourneville, Birmingham, Walsall, Tipton and Halesowen
