Our client is a leading supplier of high-pressure die-castings primarily to the automotive industry and are looking for a Maintenance Hydraulic Engineer to join their team.

Their plant in Worcester contains its own foundries, a series of automatic & semi-automatic die casting machines, and a wide range of secondary operation CNC machinery and assembly plant. The ideal candidate will be mechanically biased and have an extensive knowledge of hydraulic & pneumatic systems.

Main Tasks & Operating Requirements:

To demonstrate a high level of skill in hydraulic systems of the specified ranges of equipment shown below, he/she must also show awareness of root cause analysis, whilst following approved methods of tackling tasks.

The work will need to be achieved safely & correctly to a high standard of competence. This will involve good communication, literacy & people skills. A good knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems, (Pirana) would be an advantage.

This position will operate on a standard day shift system (8.30am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am – 2.30pm on Friday), but will involve working across the operational shifts if required.

Our preventative maintenance program includes both extensive repairs & servicing of our own equipment. Candidates should come from an environment where root cause analysis and problem solving are a routine part of the role.

Applicants should have a minimum of five years’ experience in a maintenance environment, be preferably apprentice trained along with extensive hydraulic experience in an automotive industrial environment. The idea candidate should be capable of fault diagnosis and repairs on hydraulic systems. Excellent working knowledge and understanding of fault diagnosis using hydraulic drawings

Qualifications:

  1. City & Guilds Mechanical engineering, level 3. Or equivalent.
  2. Together with a recognized apprenticeship.
  3. In depth knowledge of Health & Safety issues relating to machines & their operation
  4. Electrical training would be an advantage.
