Our client is a national awarding body who are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their Business Development team, working from home, covering the Midlands area.

The role involves offering advice, support and guidance to new and existing customers on their products and services to gain increased sales through exceptional customer service.

Duties:

  • To proactively target and win new business across their key target area's - Colleges, Training Providers and Schools.
  • To work to and exceed sales targets / KPI's based on short, medium and long term goals
  • Report sales data and forecasts on a regular basis and meet month end sales deadlines
  • Developing strong relationships with new and existing customers and stakeholders to increase the sales of our products and services through always delivering exceptional customer service
  • Maximising new business through targeted consultative sales activity
  • Booking, preparing, undertaking and reporting on a series of appointments to existing and potential customers
  • Providing guidance and advice to customers on our products and services and their potential application to maximise sales
  • Maintaining current knowledge of developments in the education sector, funding, customer activity and products and services
  • Use a multi-channel approach to prospecting and customer relationship management in order to drive sales and enhance the customer experience
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with other area's of the business
  • Acting as a key point of contact for customer queries for new customers
  • Providing and act on market intelligence to support the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies and activities
  • Attending, contributing to and evaluating events
  • Organising and managing own activities to reflect regional operational plan objectives, led and supported by your manager
  • Managing own activities to ensure that leads and opportunities are followed up with the customer and communicated to through CRM
  • Maximising sales and marketing campaigns to increase customer awareness of products and services to hit sales targets

Skills:

  • Full driving license
  • Experience of achieving sales targets
  • Strong understanding of current opportunities, challenges and solutions with the College and Training Provider Market
  • Outstanding business development & account management skills
  • Experience of working in a similar/comparable role
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including good grammar and spelling
  • Demonstrable word processing, data entry, spreadsheet and email skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
