Digital Technology Officer
Digital Technology Officer BLUD52420
Our client is seeking a dynamic Digital Technology Officer with a background in digital technology for development. This is an exciting time to join a vibrant Policy and Practice team in the UK office which is working with international offices and partners to deliver on their change ambitions. This is a new role which plays a critical part in shaping our clients digital technology work stream internally and the influencing agenda externally.
Our client is an international non-governmental organisation developing and demonstrating practical, technology based solutions that enable women and men living in or vulnerable to poverty, to lead dignified lives. They partner with people whose lives are transformed by these efforts and ensure local ownership and solutions that work in the longer term, without them.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders from across units and offices to capture, analyse and share lessons from programme work and to shape our own practice and inform policy positions. This will involve identifying needs, barriers and opportunities for the role of digital technology in agriculture, energy, urban WASH and disaster risk reduction programmes.
He or she will keep abreast of trends in digital technology innovation and engage with key forums and stakeholders externally and work with Regional and Country Offices and partners to develop integrated approaches, strengthening existing and develop new partnerships and alliances.
This opportunity will suit an individual who has ideally experience in the application of digital technology in development and a sound understanding of, or ability, to quickly get up to speed on digital divide. With excellent communication and analytical skills, you will enjoy working in a complex, multicultural environment.
The role is initially a 12-month fixed term contract and will be based from our clients Rugby office, with some international travel involved.
