Job Title: Materials Planning Manager

Location: Marlow

The Company:

Our well established client is a leading global technology and services innovator, respected for providing solutions to the greatest challenges, from deep space to the depths of the ocean. They are now looking for an experienced Materials Planning Manager to join their team. You will be accountable for the in-bound material planning processes to ensure materials are available to production on time and in full to enable on time delivery to customers. To take responsibility for Inbound/Outbound & internal materials movements, inventory control (including perpetual inventory counting and annual stock checks), warehousing, processes & Kitting functions. Responsibility for deliveries to customers, whether domestic or international, managing documentation including invoicing, packing and packaging, shipping and distribution.

Our client develops and manufactures high specification sector and multi-sector, directional, Omni-directional, ultra-wideband (UWB) and MIMO antennas. A wide range of products are available for customers, small and large, worldwide in Commercial, Military, Satellite and Security markets.

The Technology:

At our clients' site in Marlow, they design and manufacture active and passive avionics antennas and electronic control systems for military and civil communications, navigation and search and rescue applications. They pioneered frequency agile VHF tuneable antennas and continue to be a key supplier to major avionics companies. Their GPS anti-jam technology utilises state of the art DSP algorithms with an active antenna to eliminate both narrow-band and wide-band jamming signals. Both military and civil users rely on their direction finding systems for search and rescue operations.

The Candidate:

As a Materials Planning Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

- A relevant qualification in distribution, logistics and transportation is desirable.

- Previous experience of managing stores and despatch environments is essential.

- Experience of managing an area containing ESD components is desirable.

- Compliance with relevant industry regulations and internal Company Management Procedures.

- Compliance with Customer/Contract dictated packaging and shipping.

- On-time-delivery (OTD) and Customer Defect Parts per Million (CDPPM) metrics.

- Headcount and costs.

- As a Materials Planning Manager your main responsibilities will involve:

- Understand supply chain dynamics and set inventory with optimal cost and delivery trade-offs.

- Establish stocking policies and planning parameters for all parts - Plan for Every Part

- For sites with defence contracts, ensure FAR and MMAS compliance as required.

- Establish and lead daily/weekly stores, dispatch stand-up meetings, driving continuous improvement of' KPIs and role-modelling root cause problem solving.

- Developing and implementing robust, multi-year supply chain and material planning strategies to support the Business Unit goals and to support their corporate Supply Chain initiatives.

- Develop strategic plans to drive site to 5X inventory turns, conducting RCPS and associated projects to drive inventory improvement.

- Maintain high inventory accuracy through various techniques including inventory audits, annual physical inventory, and cycle counting.

- Oversee the preparation of delivery documentation for products, parts, and materials for shipment and routes following customer instructions.

- Establishing and managing relationships with freight forwarders, international shipping companies and couriers, in accordance with company standards and where relevant, working with the companies Commodity Sourcing Leaders for freight and shipping services under the companies' category Management.

- Communicating shipping status with customers and dealing with customer correspondence regarding delivery and RMA progress

- Developing & managing of internal databases to control & record shipments and certifications; ensuring authorizations for shipment and inspection clearances have been verified; matching accounting records and freight bills.

- Dealing with Customs and Excise communications, queries, audits

- Complying with and deploying the company's management practices relating to SOF, LCM, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Root Cause Problem Solving and Standard Work.

- Developing reporting staff; setting clear objectives; managing ePDR process; developing skills and competences.

Desirable (Not Essential)

- Aerospace electronics export manufacturing background, team management, and pressurized environment balancing competing demands

- Knowledge of import/export compliance & controls.
