Contract Position based at: Gaydon
Position Description:

Systems Integration Engineer
Responsible for specific system architecture, the network and hardware requirements or the functional specification developments and the functional implementation.

Skills Required:

1. Functional Safety (ISO26262) development Vehicle & Module Testing
2. Electronics and Hardware behaviour and integration
3. Experience in logical, physical system architectures, functional & non-functional requirements design.

Skills Preferred:
Planning the overall system delivery, working with the system owners to support build and fleet updates; Risk managing the system delivery, identify and contain function issues, in conjunction with vehicle engineering. Also manage the timing issues in conjunction with the system engineers, managers and timing team; Testing system to ensure that it has met specification; Manage any issues that arise and look for solution; Make sure that quality planning completed - FMA; Supplier Management; Lead issue investigations and warranty investigations; Co-ordinate with control system, hardware and software engineers to ensure robust and timely software deliveries; Develop and execute robust DVM/DVP for electrical system validation including HIL development and vehicle testing; Develop and maintain Manufacturing & Service documentation for the Electrical system; Ensure requirements on other systems/modules are clearly cascaded and that timing plans are in place to support the system development and delivery; Review Supplier DVM/DVP; Manage System delivery across multiple JLR vehicle lines; Write, Design and Collate feature and system requirements; Translate / decompose feature and system requirements into robust electrical system and software specifications and standards; Maintaining and reporting agreed departmental metrics/KPIs; Timely updating of AIMS/RMDV/etc systems with current status; Development of control algorithms to be implemented in prototype - series development projects.

Experience Required:
Understanding of Quality methods; Experience with real time control systems design; Experience of component, system and vehicle level issue investigations.

Experience Preferred:
Experience of Software development and delivery Diagnostic System Strategy & Implementation; Vehicle Network & configuration System Strategy & Implementation; Requirements Capture & Design; Long term system strategy and architecture planning; Manufacturing environment; Strong communication skills including experience presenting to senior management; Support of in-house software development processes and metrics; NHSTA & NCAP Understanding & legal compliance; Matlab / Simulink, dSpace. Processes, systems and tools: Requirements, Change, Defect & Configuration Management Tools; System Modelling & Logical Architecture Tools; Electrical Circuit Simulation Tools; Network Analysis Tools; PCDS, AIMS, RMDV, C scripts, DOORs, eTracker; Matlab / Simulink; dSpace rapid prototyping tools.
