An Innovative and technological centre focused on transforming technology solutions for the global energy sector are looking to recruit a hardware technician for its field trials that are soon to be rolled out to the general public

Job Title: Hardware Technician

Salary: £175 per day

About the role
As a hardware technician your role will be to support the preparation and installation of intelligent heating systems and supervise the work of the contractors involved. Your time will be split between working in Newcastle and Birmingham

Key responsibilities
" To supervise under the leadership of the ICT analyst and the project manager
" Interpreting and correcting errors in the MS Excel based survey
" Monitoring and correcting a defined software procedure to convert the excel forms for integration into the cloud platform
" Provide technical support for the installation teams using the proprietary software support tools
" Ensuring home management systems are operating as expected using the diagnostic tools provided and resolving issues in a timely fashion
" Provide the technical support during the decommissioning of the platforms on completion of the test
" To be the point of reference for the Newcastle local authority

Experience Required
Ideally you will have experience working within a Utilities/Telecommunication business with a smart meters or a similar product based on RF/IOT (internet of things) technology

Qualifications and aptitudes
" Experience in electronics, automation, instrumentation or another related discipline with substantial experience in hardware electronics
" Experience working in an electronic laboratory or electrical instrumentation facility
" The ability to translate complex information into simple communications
" Good IT skills, able to work well with SW engineers
