If you have a great leadership style and experience of working with volunteers, this is a superb opportunity to take on a rewarding contract with a progressive and dedicated charity.

Our client is an innovative not-for-profit organisation that helps to make life better for older people in the UK. They believe that everybody should matter, regardless of how old they are. They're now looking for a Senior Service Assistant to join them on a part time basis, on a contract until the 31st May 2018.

Within an engaging and team-oriented environment, you will have the chance to make a positive, lasting impact on your local community in a role that you can fit around your existing responsibilities.

As the Senior Service Assistant, you will support the Service Co-ordinators with the day-to-day delivery of our client's Supporting Your Recovery service.

This new service will ensure that older vulnerable people are offered the support they need after they've been discharged from A&E, hospital or on referral from other routes.

In this key role, you will:

- Recruit, develop, supervise and motivate volunteers
- Produce volunteer rotas to ensure that sufficient cover is provided at all times
- Engage with voluntary and statutory networks and organisations to ensure that service users receive the support they need
- Promote our client and their work
- Travel to sites throughout Stoke-on-Trent

Interested? To be considered, you will need:

- Experience of supervising people and teams, including recruitment, training, supervision and management of workloads and performance
- Previous experience of managing and supporting volunteers and volunteer-led support groups, including experience of recruiting, inducting, training and managing volunteers
- Knowledge and experience of general administrative systems and processes of using IT to support these systems, such as databases and spreadsheets
- Proficiency in industry standard IT systems to a moderate standard, such as MS Office, email and the internet
- At a minimum GCSEs (or equivalent)
- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Self-motivated and resourceful, as the Senior Service Assistant, you'll have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A great eye for detail, a positive attitude and superb time-management abilities are also key.

Please note, this is a part time role, working 20 hours per week, Sunday - Thursday.
