M&E Quantity Surveyor Position Overview:

We are seeking an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team based in our Birmingham office.

Ideally the suitable candidate will have prior M&E experience, however this is not critical

Experience background in Construction or FM works would also be favourable

Reporting to our Senior Quantity Surveyor and providing Quantity Surveying duties and full Commercial Support

Utilising our Contract Administrators for the general accounting support to allow the suitable candidate to focus on but not limited to;

Commercial ownership of Contracts allocated

Monthly Applications are submitted accurately and on time taking due regards of costs expended to date

Identifying Contract Variations and to provide accurate costing and agreement of costs

Ensure payment timetables are adhered to and necessary payment notices received and actioned accordingly

Assisting with Payment Allocations

Ensuring Final Accounts are agreed and paid in a timely manner

Providing support on preparing monthly commercial project reports, including CVR’s, WIP, Retention and Debt

Commercial awareness and assisting driving better buying, driving down costs and maximising contractual revenue entitlement

Assistance with the Bid Team and preparation of quotations when required

Provide support and commercial guidance for our Administrators

Quantifying works and measurement on site pre and post contract where applicable

Working with our Operational Teams to produce Labour Targets and Sub-Contractor work packages

Preparing and Issuing Sub-Contractor Orders in line with Company Guidelines and Authorisation levels

Manage Sub-Contractors Accounts accurately

An ideal candidate will boast previous experience working within a commercial team working upon a range of residential and commercial building services packages.

Similarly, an M&E quantity surveyor with experience of working in a main contractor environment with a degree qualification will also be looked upon positively.

Driving licence essential

Suitable Qualifications - would expect HNC minimum

IT literate (Word, Outlook and strong Excel knowledge skills).
