Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Midlands/North West with National Coverage

Reporting to: Group HR Director

We are recruiting for a dynamic and strategically focused Quality Assurance Manager to join the team on a permanent basis in either the Midlands or North West with national Coverage.

JOB PURPOSE:

To support the development, implementation and integration of externally accredited standards and related management systems including; BRC Storage and Distribution, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 and Organic standards.

Utilising those management system frameworks as a methodology to develop and support consistency & compliance working with relevant internal stakeholders for the benefit of our clients.

Support depots with client audits and client technical requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Support the company’s achievement and implementation of externally recognised standards including; fostering a culture of consistency & compliance utilising a systematic approach to management.

* Work with external auditors to develop a programme of certification and surveillance to deliver the extension and retention of externally recognised standards.

* Work with Client auditors to ensure technical requirements are met.

* Develop and maintain a competent internal audit programme in line with the requirements of standards where achieved.

* Ensure conformance to legal & regulatory obligations, procedures and continual improvement in line with the requirements of accredited standards.

* Control the circulation of all management system documentation relevant to our standards.

* Support the completion and escalation where required of corrective and other actions raised by our external and internal audit programmes and develop improvement plans or initiatives where failures are identified across multiple locations.

* Support the management and development of management system initiatives within the standards framework to improve working practice and processes.

* Engage with business stakeholders supporting process and quality initiatives across the business.

* Working with Legal, HR and other stakeholders, engage with regulatory bodies, as required, to ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory or best practise requirements for environmental and food safety legislation

* Regularly reporting on compliance levels and issues arising in order to offer assurance to the business executive.

* Utilising the company management system frameworks to ensure that the business has consistency in its approach

* Provide advice and guidance to relevant departments on food safety.

* Ensure continued compliance with CRC and CCA legislation

* Manage the group contracts for Pest control and Waste management

* Compile and create client and internal reports for carbon footprint and environmental performance.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES NEEDED

* Excellent written and interpersonal skills and the ability to challenge constructively at all levels within an organisation.

* Effective team working and networking skills and the ability to work independently using own initiative.

* The ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload.

* Knowledge of the implementation and development of integrated management systems for standards.

* Lead auditor qualification in one or more of the following ISO9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS18001

* HACCP level 2 or above

* Experience of cross functional working.

* Proven ability to translate technical knowledge into working processes and procedures for audit.
