Development Manager

Shrewsbury and Stafford with planned relocation to Telford

Salary - £41,398.26 + Car allowance and Pension

Permanent, 37 hours per week

Our client is a 'family’ of companies established to provide a range of homes and services for people who cannot access these services on their own. They are a not for profit organisation with a strong focus on delivering a successful business with social objectives.

They are currently seeking an experienced Development Manager who will effectively identify and develop new business opportunities, particularly in the field of new housing development and to prepare feasibility studies for identified opportunities.

Proactive in your approach you will generate, manage and deliver the development programme in accordance with the approved Development Strategy and priorities and be a part of managing the Company’s new housing development function on a day-to-day basis including taking the lead in liaisons and collaboration with the Commercial Team.

You will also be responsible for managing a small team to deliver a defined development programme utilising a Project Team approach. Other duties will include ensuring the activities of the Company are carried out to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in accordance with the legal, regulatory and statutory requirements, best practice and the Company’s policies and procedures.

The successful candidate must be educated to a Higher National Certificate (HNC/HND), or degree level in relevant technical discipline e.g. Development, Construction, Housing or equivalent through relevant work experience and training. Evidence of managing consultants and new build development contracts, including large complex projects is essential.

Further to this you will have experience with the development and management of demanding performance standards that enable successful achievement of the company’s business plans along with an understanding of the Homes & Communities Agency development standards, policies and procedures and processing in accessing grant funding. The ability to assist in the development and implementation of policies and plans that promote best practice customer service in relation to Development, Asset Management is also required.

Due to the nature of this role you will be required to travel across all of the locations and dispersed sites, Shrewsbury and Stafford therefore a current driving licence and access to your own vehicle would be essential.
