My client who are a leading 3rd party logistics company are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their team and oversee a number of implementations.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • The delivery of IS and / or Business Process projects
  • The IT solutions department provides support for WMS and TMS systems for theirs and 3rd party (JDA, SAP etc) or Client provided solutions. However this is not restrictive as the department needs to be flexible in order to respond to Business demands
  • The role includes the line management of Project Managers
  • To deputise for the IT Solutions Manager when required
  • The role requires a good understanding of TMS and WMS functionality and of Transport and Warehouse operational process and procedure
  • The requirement is not a technical IT role, (Network or hardware configuration etc); it is a solutions design and delivery role

Your skills and experience

  • Graduate Calibre
  • Prince2 Practitioner
  • Proven track record in successfully implementing IS related projects to demanding timescales
  • Demonstrable experience in the following: -

- IS project lifecycle principles;

- Requirements analysis and definition;

- Good commercial awareness and budget management skills;

- Writing business and IS reports and presentations;

- People Management (direct and indirect);

  • Proven ability in relationship building and influencing skills in a business and IS environment
  • Logistics industry experience
  • Awareness of the current trends in IS technology
  • Appreciation of the business objectives and key business drivers.
  • Ability to be flexible to the needs of the business but be confident to assert oneself when necessary
  • An excellent and confident communicator (both verbal and written) at all levels within the business
  • Demonstrate a professional attitude and approach to all work-related tasks
  • Self-motivated and organised to achieve the objectives of the projects and the requirements of the department
  • The ability to remain positive in the event of setbacks or lack of instant success
  • A practical and logical approach to business problems and issues; a problem solver
  • Monitors own personal development in a structured, proactive fashion
  • Works collaboratively when required and is aware of the importance of teamwork
  • The ability to prioritise and react to changing demands, whilst meeting agreed deadlines
