We are Recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer for a large Defence organisation in Telford on an initial 3 month contract, paying £242.37 a day LTD.

Job Purpose

Provide Manufacturing Engineering expertise in order to achieve and exceed business objectives and targets in the areas of product quality, schedule adherence, cost and product delivery lead-times.

Primary Skills

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate competency across a wide range of business processes including;

*Detailed operating knowledge of SAP
*Knowledge of Teamcentre
*Manufacturing change control and configuration control management
*Manufacturing planning tools and techniques
*Preparation of manufacturing instructions
*Manufacturing Bill of Material creation and management through SAP
*Continuous improvement tools and techniques
*Design for Manufacture/Cost principles
*Estimating/Costing for manufacturing activities
*Planning manufacturing activities and resources
*Knowledge of applicable business quality standards
*Manufacturing performance monitoring/measurement and reporting
*Safety, Health and Environmental legislation and best practice

Key Responsibilities

*Preparation and management of production planning information and process control documentation (e.g. process plans and routings, manufacturing instructions and schedules) to achieve optimal operating efficiencies and effectiveness
*Application of production, industrial engineering and design for manufacture and cost techniques
*Preparation and management of Bills of Materials through SAP (including engineering/manufacturing change and configuration control management)
*Analysis of manufacturing performance, generation of reports and corrective action plans to address issues as required
*Establish and maintain manufacturing resource forward load data
*Monitor actual v required in process quality standards
*Participate in quality related activities e.g. defect investigation (internal and supplier), identification and implementation of remedial and preventative actions, generation and sentencing of incident notes
*Identify, justify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement (including capital investment projects)
*Actively participate in and promote all aspects of the business SHE Management system including for example; the generation of risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work and COSHH assessments
*Provide technical, administrative and supervisory support to the Operations Management team as required
*Participate fully in make/buy decision making process and evaluate subcontractor capability

Personal Skills

The successful candidate shall, in addition to the primary skills previously identified, possess the following competencies;

*The ability to use a wide range of inter personal skills in order to support and further develop team working within the work place
*Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required in addition to the IT skills/knowledge described previously
*An ability to work effectively with both internal and external functional customers
*Ability to communicate at all levels within the business (both verbally and in written form)
*Ability to work individually or as part of a team, often with minimal supervision
*Willingness to work off site and/or outside of normal working hours as required
