*We are currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety professional to join our client based in Birmingham. This is a part time position offering a competitive salary and fantastic benefits on a permanent basis.

We are looking for candidates with previous health & safety experience, preferably with some onsite experience. This is a fast paced role where accuracy and attention to detail are paramount. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a friendly team.

This is a part time role, ideally working 2/3 days per week.

Main Duties of the Health & Safety Coordinator include:

  • Updating management system documentation (forms, registers, policies, procedures etc) ensuring

  • High standards of quality are maintained at all times

  • Conducting workplace inspections and audits against company and regulatory requirements

  • Preparing, quality checking and issuing formal reports, plans and other documentation as required, in

  • Accordance with document control requirements- pro-actively

  • Assist in preparation and review of risk assessments, and promotion of health and safety culture.

  • Maintenance and accurate updating of H&S records, files and databases

  • Create documentation to company standards and comply with the document control procedure

  • Attend and contribute to relevant SHEQ network functions / H&S conferences

  • Ensure relevant staff/ teams are kept informed and up to date of all new policies, processes and procedures with regards to H&S

To be considered for the role of Health & Safety Coordinator you will have:

  • Thorough understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental management systems
  • Good understanding of HSE legislation
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure prioritising tasks in order to meet deadlines
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office programmes
  • Ability to produce Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
