Seeking a 1:1 Tutor to deliver a construction/ bricklaying and support a mixed curriculum
1:1 SEN Tutor for a Special School in Worcester to start September 2017
Your new school
A specialist SEMH provision based in the Worcester region are looking for a passionate, Tutor (non - qualified teacher) with previous experience of teaching Secondary aged pupils with SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health), or those with EBD/ EBSD, (Emotional, Behavioural Social difficulties),
Your new role
This is a full-time role, teaching pupils across year 7 - year 11 on a 1:1 basis with Special Education Needs . You will be required to plan/ deliver learning sessions across a mixed curriculum as well as play an active part in delivering Construction and/ or Bricklaying. Other aspects of the job includes; engage pupils in learning, boost self-esteem and moral, manage/ de-escalate challenging behaviour to bring about progress. You may also be required to mark work maintain learning records to document progress. This is a temp to perm role has been created due to an internal promotion at the school and commences in September 2017, however for the right person the role may be offered permanently.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be child focused and have a passion for bringing out the best in children young people with SEMH have at least 40 days teaching experience. This role will involve facilitating the delivery of a mixed curriculum but you should have some experience / specialism with Construction / bricklaying. Within the last 4 years that can be referenced. You also need to have previous experience of working with ASC, EBSD, MLD pupils. You should be a confident engaging teacher with effective behaviour management strategies and be patient and resilient in your approach. You need to be able to demonstrate previous experience of working with pupils with a lower emotional intelligence. Knowledge in crisis prevention / restraint will be advantageous; you should also hold a full driving license as you will be given access to a car for the purpose of transporting pupils.
