ILPR are working exclusively with a pioneering B2C business operating at the forefront of a highly competitive and fast moving sector. The business is large and complex with a number of diverse revenue streams.

The business has won many awards for innovation and service and is now poised for future growth from existing and new business streams and product development and innovation.

As a result of growth in the business, a role has been created for an experienced finance professional to join the UK Finance team as Head of Operational Finance.

Reporting into the UK Finance Director and directing a team of c25 with 4 direct reports you will be responsible for Financial reporting ensuring that the numbers are accurate and appropriate financial controls are in place.

You will set the long term vision for your area and support your team to deliver it.

On a day to day basis you will be responsible for:

Transactional Processing - Responsible for all transactional processing (payments, receipts, expenses, banking etc).

Identifying and delivering efficiency and control improvements.

Ensuring a robust Financial Control Environment.

Management Accounts - Responsible for the accuracy of the accounts.

Continually improve the use of systems to reduce reporting timelines and improve analysis.

Working closely with colleagues across the business to optimise business profitability.

Owning the key financial estimates

Working with the Head of Commercial Finance to identify and manage risks and opportunities.

Statutory Reporting - Year end statutory accounts and liaison with the auditors.

Review of all tax and regulatory reporting including VAT.

Transactional Processing

? Review and authorise financial transactions ensuring that they are processed in a controlled, accurate, efficient and timely manner

? Review all Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure that appropriate financial controls are in place

Management Accounts

? Close the Accounts quickly and accurately

? Ensure (by liaison with colleagues around the business) that accounting estimates are appropriate and financial risks are identified and managed

? Produce commentary and insight to explain the numbers

? Develop financial systems and processes to improve control, automation, insight and reduce reporting timescales Statutory Reporting

? Ensure that all statutory and tax reporting requirements are adhered to

You will set the vision for your team, coach and create a foundation for progression (including career paths etc)

? Work closely with the Head of Commercial Finance and the UK Finance Director to support the forecast process and identify opportunities to improve performance of the business

? Liaise with the Group Finance team to support Board and external reporting, audit, tax etc

? Deputise for the UK Finance Director as required

? You will be a Qualified Accountant with extensive experience in a Financial Controller (or equivalent) role in a large complex business

? Track record of process / financial control improvements and systems enhancements

? Excellent systems, accounting and tax knowledge
