We have an exciting opportunity to join one of the world's leading manufacturers of heavy equipment as a Quality Inspector. Based in Staffordshire this company is synonymous with quality and their brands stretches the world over.

Overview of the role:

The role is for an Inspector of incoming and internally machined components for our award-winning diesel engine.

Your Responsibilities as a Quality Inspector:

Working as part of a fast paced and integrated team, the role is primarily to conduct measurements of incoming engine components and in particular of internally machined (and incoming part machined) components. This will be accomplished against defined processes using a range of hand tools, Hexagon CMM and Taylor Hobson surface finish measurement equipment. This will involve following a defined control plan and analysing CMM and other inspection results to ensure components are to the required quality level, working in close liaison with the machinist to ensure a quick response to trends and very robust product.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with analysis of data and use of statistical analysis tools, as well as programming of Hexagon and Nikon CMM plus Taylor Hobson Tallysurf.Â

About you:

You will be an experienced inspector with a minimum of five years experience of finely machined castings, conversant in different measurement techniques, their benefits and pitfalls.

You will be an excellent team worker with excellent organisational and record keeping skills. You will be comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy, including during evening and night shifts.

You will possess a working understanding of quality management systems including ISO9001:2008, though ISO9001:2015 and TS16949 is considered an advantage.
