Position Description:

  • To be creative in the development and delivery of our clay models for customers of clay properties.
  • To be the Lead Modeller on your project.
  • Understand current /future product deliverables
  • Be proactive and supportive of Health and Safety in the Design Studio.
  • Ability to amend and populate property delivery trackers
  • Attend Design Delivery Programme meetings
  • Have a good set of meeting skills
  • Ability to prioritise resource in alignment with customer requests
  • Locate and store data in correct format
  • Maintain and strive for the highest quality within your work.
  • Have a good understanding of programme DPS
  • Ability to motivate and give transparency of team regarding deliverables
  • Apply a logical modelling approach, to achieve the delivery of design clay properties, to the recognised standards within given timelines i.e. programme gateways.
  • Report timing and process issues to your Manager
  • Understand and embrace new technologies to improve our Clay Modelling process.
  • Embrace Clay Modelling Code of Conduct
  • To support off site clay activities within other Design Studio facilities
  • Comply with all company policy and procedures, particularly the Design Studio security.

Skills Required:


  1. Proven experience in OEM automotive studio
  2. good communication and interpersonal skills
  3. Interior and exterior experience required

Experience Required:

  • The position requires an enthusiastic self-motivated team player with good leadership skills and who is flexible in their approach to work and capable of assisting to ensure the tasks are achieved against set targets.
  • This role requires a well-organized person who can liaise with personnel at all levels. They must be able to work in a team or on their own if required.
  • They must be highly motivated and be able to interpret written, sketched and verbal instructions given by the Design team.
  • An understanding of design properties and materials and an awareness of the design studio environment is essential.
  • They must have the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends to deliver to required timings but it is not anticipated this would be frequent.
  • Have a minimum of five years clay modelling experience with in a design studio
  • A good background and experience of working in an OEM Design Studio.
  • Hard Modelling skills and Wood Machine Shop trained are essential.
  • A good understanding and the ability to use 3 axis measuring machines and its supporting software. Preferred Degree Qualified
