Collections Officer

We are recruiting for a Collections Officer in the Shirley Area. Our client provides a range of specialist finance to people.

As a Collections Officer you will need to have:

- Previous collection experience is required
- Experience in dealing with car finance would be an advantage
- English and Mathematics GCSE's (grade c or equivalent)
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to remain calm under pressure
- IT literate and quick to learn new systems


- Salary: Up to £21,000
- Working Hours: Between 8am and 9pm (Monday to Friday) 37.5 Hours per week
- Location: Shirley
- Duration: Permanent

Role of a Collections Officer:

- Efficiently and effectively recover any monies due on customer accounts (predominantly car finance accounts)
- Communicate with customers in arrears by telephone in order to agree payment arrangements
- Examine car finance accounts in arrears and determine the appropriate action
- Ensure payments are made as ordered by monitoring judgement cases
- Monitor forbearance arrangements
- Identify vulnerable/sensitive customers or customers struggling with potential financial hardships and agree payment arrangements in line with their affordability and individual circumstances
- Deal with customers in an empathetic way whilst questioning and probing to understand their circumstances
- Interpret customer's instructions and action in accordance with different departments processes and procedures
- Adhere to all FCA, DPA, MCOB rules, guidelines and principles
- Manage, organise and update relevant information onto computer systems
- Understand forbearance options available to our customers
- Remain highly professional at all times
