(Overview and purpose of job role)

To support business and customer value growth that meets business needs through the identification, development and launch of new and enhanced retail and credit finance propositions based on customer, consumer, partner, market and data insights.

The role holder will be closely involved in shaping the future of our offering; building clarity and confidence in our propositions and solutions.

Proposition development initiatives can include

  • new products for existing, new or potential partners
  • product solutions/enhancements to address customer and commercial opportunities and issues
  • new channels/routes to market
  • customer/brand experience
  • Sourcing new products from 3rd party providers
  • Other customer or regulation oriented digital and infrastructure developments

To succeed, you must have an innate understanding and appreciation of 'the customer' and the ability to develop and deliver innovative solutions from concept through to real world commercial success.

Role-holders are expected to be digitally immersed experts - fully conversant and experienced in the opportunities existing today and an interest in emerging technologies and trends


  • Proposition and product development
  • Creation of distinctive customer and partner credit propositions based on insight and market analysis that create long term value for the business
  • Development of high-level concepts and prototypes that illustrate the proposition proposals and help in the definition of detailed product specifications and capability requirements
  • Ensure that propositions are aligned to the meeting the business and product strategies and objectives
  • Definition of new finance products and customer experiences based on research, stakeholder requirements, customer experience design, feature and requirements definition, business case etc
  • Development and delivery of the product requirements, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to drive new product development and innovation across the product portfolio
  • Lead and co-ordinate between requirements of the commercial and technology side of the business to develop and deliver distinctive, valuable and achievable products
  • Ensure that all product developments comply with Legal, Regulatory and Conduct requirements

  • Extensive experience in product/proposition development and product management in a service based multi-channel organisation.
  • Creative flair - demonstrate experience of developing innovative ideas and strategies based on insight into successful propositions
  • Strong commercial awareness of the FS industry (or similar eg Telco/other regulated industry)
  • Evidence of creating value-generating propositions and/or products
  • Evidence of building strong and effective business cases and leading major developments in partnership with a wide range of corporate cross functional teams and stakeholders
  • A sound appreciation of digital platforms and working with technical teams
  • Evidence of credibility and working with stakeholders across a wide range of levels up to C-Suite
  • Proven track record of developing powerful and attractive propositions and products with a great digital experience at their heart based on customer insight and research
