31262 Systems Engineer - telematics
The role of the Systems Engineer for Telematics Systems is to: To Technically lead the end-to-end design of Telematics systems including eCall (European eCall, Russia ERA GLONASS and emerging requirements in the middle east). To technically establish and influence the appropriate use cases and DVP methods to sign-off telematics system operation. To interact with the relevant Industry Forums on Telematics designs and standards. To interact with the relevant Industry Forums on ITS and eCall standards (including GOST 54618, 54619, 54620, 55530, 55531, 55533, 55534, CEN 16062, 16072, 15722...). To specify the relevant technical standards for On-board Telematics systems, having translated the general industry standard into JLR specific requirements. To be a consultant on all technical matters relating to Telematics systems at JLR, interfacing at all levels within JLR, suppliers and industry technical groups.
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
Proven record of specification writing/reviewing and implementation.
Automotive electrical architecture.
Cellular wireless communications technologies including 2G, 3G, LTE, 4G.
Familiarity with the DOORS requirements capture and management environment and with model-based functional definition and development.
Good experience of UML modelling - especially sequence diagrams and use cases.
Expert knowledge of FMEA - including tools such as Byteworx.
Familiarity with vehicle networks including CAN, LIN, Ethernet and Flexray CAN and associated tool chain including CANALYSER, CANOE.
Good knowledge of telematics protocols including NGTP 2.0, MQTT, ACP245 and similar.
Good knowledge of Internet protocols including IP (UDP and TCP), AVB, https (TLS), HTML5, IPv4/6.
Good knowledge of security - including payload and transport layer security.
A flexible approach, willingness to adapt to changing needs as the project evolves.
Good communication skills, written, electronic and verbal.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Project.
Good knowledge of systems engineering.
Good knowledge of product design and operation.
Test plan generation, management and reporting.
Understanding of automation techniques and test rig support.
Support of test and validation teams throughout the development cycle.
Support resolution of technical issues.
Fault log analysis and resolution.
Understanding of cellular wireless communications technologies including 2G, 3G, LTE etc..
Understanding of antenna systems including cellular, fixed wireless, antenna diversity and MIMO.
Fully understand the following legislation European eCall, Russia ERA GLONASS System Evaluation planning and implementation.
