Due to the new partnership between Birmingham City Council and Hays, we are now looking to recruit a Leading Hand Supervisor for the Birmingham city centre and surrounding areas. Your new role
As a Leading Hand Supervisor you will be located on any premises from residential areas and social housing straight through to high end buildings and business districts. You will be working in a construction and property environment. Working as part of the public sector on behalf of a lucrative council. You will be very passionate about delivering a safe and effective public service. Your team and people you report to can be anyone from Project managers, directors, CEOs and architects so you will be surrounded by professional individuals to keep you motivated to seeing the bigger vision of the city's development. As a main point of contact for sub-contractors and the team your communication should be that of a confident nature and you will enjoy developing strong working relationships. You will ideally lead the team in structural duties and oversee or occasionally recite the daily health and safety procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will have past experience in a supervisory role within a construction or property environment. You must have qualifications such as Level 2/3 City and Guilds/CSCS/carpentry/DIY. You will be responsible for setting up of sites and equipment so it is safe for use, ordering materials that meet the criteria, conducting safety presentations and co-coordinating workers.
