Senior Associate - Deals - Valuations – BirminghamSalary: CompetitiveClosing Date: Friday 29th September 2017About The TeamValuations is a business unit within the PwC Deals offering. The Valuations team (of around 140 people) provides advice on the valuations of shares, businesses, intangible assets and debt and derivative instruments to a wide range of clients, including government offices, private equity houses, family businesses, multinational conglomerates and individuals. Clients come to us to obtain our advice on valuation for many reasons, including to support them in transactions, to provide expert advice in disputes, to negotiate valuations with the tax authorities and to comply with their financial reporting, regulatory or tax requirements. We pride ourselves on being the largest dedicated valuations practice in the UK, and the only one with a focus on industry specialisms. Our objective is to provide our clients with commercial, pragmatic valuation analysis that draws on industry insight and is grounded in technical excellence.The national tax valuation business is a growing business that provides our clients with specialist advice around valuations of shares, other instruments and companies for tax purposes. The business works intimately with our tax LoS to support our top tier corporate and private equity clients, as well as the dynamic private business space, and is a leading member of PwC’s global tax valuation network.About The RoleThere is potential for rapid personal and career development in this team. From the outset, you will be intimately involved in developing and growing a specialist valuation hub focussing on supporting and growing the national tax valuation business in Birmingham, plus being exposed a broader range of stimulating valuation work. This specialist valuation hub will comprise a key strategic element and growth area of the tax valuation business, as well as part of the national Valuation practice.As a Senior Associate, you'll contribute to the valuation process by carrying out financial modelling, and financial analysis of comparison companies, across a variety of industry sectors. You will also prepare substantial sections of final valuation reports. Working alongside senior colleagues and senior clients, you'll have plenty of opportunity to build skills in business development and marketing, in particular building relationships and contributing to joint route to market strategies with our national tax practice.75% - 80% of your time will be focussed on growing the national tax valuation business. The remainder will be spent gaining exposure to the broader range of valuation work we provide and supporting business development activitiesEssential Skills & Experience

ACCA and CAT Certified

Detailed knowledge and experience of the application of the various accounting and statutory pronouncements such as Companies Law & Ordinance, Local GAAP (US & UK), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Securities & Exchange Commission regulations

Experience working with Pharmaceutical and Renewable Energy clients

Experience and knowledge of the physical verification of fixed assets, the review of operational and internal control systems, restructuring arrangements, and compliance with regulatory requirements i.e. Code of Corporate Governance, Listing Regulations

Knowledge and experience of financial databases and software systems such as Thomson Reuters, DataStream and Bloomberg
