Qualified Residential Care Workers - Specialist Children Home - Staffordshire

Dove Resourcing is currently recruiting for a small number of residential care workers to join a leading residential childcare provider with a number of services across Staffordshire.

This particular service can support up to 3 young people at any time, this is one of their specialist sites that supports individuals who exhibit Sexually Harmful Behaviours.

The organisation has an excellent relationship with an external therapeutic provider, they also insist on high staffing ratios in order to be able to offer a range of placement options which can be tailored to the needs of each young person. The smaller occupancy approach for their specialist sites allows for a more intensive support structure for young people in the service with the aim of achieving positive outcomes and ultimately for the young people to live independently once leaving care.

We are only accepting applications from individuals whom are deemed to be qualified care workers in line with Ofsted regulations - this means all applicants must have the level 3 children and young people workforce diploma or equivalent (such as social work degree).

You will need to be able to show you have direct experience working with vulnerable young people who exhibit challenging and potentially aggressive behaviours.

As a residential care worker within this organisation you will be expected to do the following;

  • To attend reviews and constructively contribute to the assessment and care planning process.
  • To interact with the young people and be a positive role model for them.
  • To always ensure that the highest standards of safe working practices are adhered to.
  • To participate in the domestic tasks throughout the home while encouraging the inclusion of the young people to do so themselves to practice self-care skills.
  • Ensure each young persons tailored care plan is kept updated and implemented.

This is a full time and permanent job opportunity - care workers are not guaranteed to complete sleep in duties but this may be requested in line with the needs of each service.

Shifts work on a 1 on 2 off basis - shifts will be full days starting early in the morning and working through until the young people are settled and go to bed.

The salary is between £18 & 19k - should you be requested to complete sleep ins this is paid at a supplement of £34 per sleep completed - all applicants must be a car driver, applications are subject to pre-employment checks.
